Port-Royal Packaging Inc. is always updating and expanding the materials and films available to our customers. The flexible packaging industry landscape is ever-changing, and we are constantly innovating to help you complete your projects.
All our materials and films used
are FDA grade.
Polypropylene
Polypropylene is the second most widely used material in the packaging industry. It has a slightly higher melting point than polyethylene and does not react with water and chemicals, making it more resistant.
Polyethylene
Polyethylene is the most common used material in the packaging industry. There are different types of films available, each with their own characteristics and uses. Polyethylene can be recycled.
Polyester
Polyester is used in the packaging industry, mostly in the lamination process. One of the main reasons for its application is to increase the shelf life of a product.
Nylon
Due to its high heat resistance, nylon is a popular material when making oven and/or microwavable bags. It is also commonly used in the meat packaging sector.
Kraft Paper
Made from paperboard, kraft paper is characterized by high durability and tear resistance. One of the most common applications is for coffee bags and confectionary bags.
Biofilms
Due to increased awareness about the environment on the international stage, biofilms are becoming increasingly popular. They are produced using biomass sources, notably cellulose, corn starch and wood pulp. However, it should be noted that not all biofilms are compostable and/or biodegradable.
We have secured partnerships with many suppliers of biofilms and we are actively staying up to date with the latest materials on the market. As an advocate of sustainable development, respecting the environment has become a priority for Port-Royal Packaging Inc. and that is why we offer compostable and/or biodegradable materials to our clients.
